French Courtesan Artist Barbie dressed in an outfit from the times of Louis XIV

French Courtesan Barbie (from the times of Louis XIV)

"A coquette is a woman without any heart, who makes a fool of a man that hasn't got any head."
Madame Dorothee Deluzy

"The characteristic of coquettes is affectation governed by whim."
Henry Fielding

"A coquette is like a recruiting sergeant, always on the lookout for fresh victims."
Douglas Jerrold

"A coquette is a young lady of more beauty than sense, more accomplishments than learning, more charms not person than graces of mind, more admirers than friends, mole fools than wise men for attendants."
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

The French Courtesan Barbie is another example of a Barbie doll that I gave a complete make-over. I painted Barbie's face because as I completed her I felt that she would benefit from looking more like a statuette, rather than a doll. I called this creation of mine the French Courtesan Barbie, because when I worked on her hair I made it look like a wig from the times of Louis XIV, the Sun King. I finished her hair first and then made an outfit to go along with the hair. I must mention that putting her hair together was anything, but easy. I had to trim some parts of it, then I glued the ends of the hair strands to the stripes of paper, curled them up and glued them again... And then I had to attach all that jewelry in all the right places... It took me a lot of time, although I think it was totally worth it.
