My own closet has mostly two colors in it: black & blue. I guess, "Futuristic Barbie" is my attempt to picture my own clothing if I were to live sometime in the distant future. The idea for the Futuristic Barbie came to me when for the million's time I got an AOL Free Trial CD in the mail and as I was about to toss it out I thought that it'd make a cool hat for a tiny head. At that time I had a few naked Barbies that I rescued from a tag sale for $.25 a piece. One of them had permanent marker all over it, so I decided to paint over her body completely to make the doll look less like a Dalmatian. I used some blue nail polish with sparkles to slick back whatever was left of her once luscious hair and glued the CD to her head. I used reflective tape and marbles to create a futuristic looking stand to go with the doll.
