Hand-made Japanese dolls

The dolls you see on your right were probably my very first hand-made toys. The dolls were inspired by my visit to a museum of Oriental Art in Kiev. Being one of the people who can get inspired by well... anything I had to create something Oriental-looking right away.

Of course, at that time my level of craftsmanship wasn't at its best as you can see for yourself... However, I still think that I did pretty good when it came to recreating all the little details on the dolls' costumes from memory. I still get amazed by the fact that I decided to use pins as chopsticks for the hair on one of the dolls. I think it was pretty creative for a six-year-old.
